This greenhouse gas case study is a based on a dairy farm situated in the South West. An organic farm of 180ha in size. The dairy herd comprises of 190 crossbred spring calving cows. The focus is on producing milk from grass. The soil type is free draining light loam, making it well suited to grassland and arable cropping. Key areas of the farming system that are helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by good practice begin with reducing gaseous emissions.
