DairyCo and Dairy UK have teamed up with partners across the dairy industry to put theProud of Dairycampaign at the forefront of people's minds at this year's Dairy Event and Livestock Show.
The campaign initially launched by Dairy UK two years ago has expanded to involve other key ambassadors showing their support of the dairy industry.
Exhibitors across the Dairy Event are displaying the Proud of Dairy logo and encouraging dairy farmers and others to pledge their support and commitment to the campaign.
Amanda Ball, head of communications at DairyCo explains: "Our
research shows that our levy payers want to see us improving the
public's perception of dairy farming, and we're doing more and more
consumer work. But while consumer-facing activity is vital to
win hearts and minds, Proud of Dairy is our own industry campaign
demonstrating to each other our shared sentiment and common
purpose; taking pride in what we do. The response we've had
from industry and from dairy farmers shows that the campaign is
definitely on the way to achieving that.
"We are asking farmers to actively sign up to show their support.
For example making a pledge to strive for further improvements in
animal health and welfare and environmental practices in time will
provide the whole industry with demonstrable progress and enable us
to promote the positives to consumers. Over and above this
committing to know and use our industry key messages will help us
all in our quest to promote what is great about dairy to the
general public."
