Celebrate World School Milk Day with DairyCo
DairyCo's School Milk Project is busy contacting all of its network groups to ensure that as many schools as possible join in with this year's World School Milk Day celebrations.
On the last Wednesday in September every year, more than 30 countries celebrate World School Milk Day. Since its launch in 2000, thousands of schools have been involved in organising fun events and activities with the aim of promoting the health benefits of milk to children.
Schools can request a specially prepared World School Milk Day
pack from DairyCo's School Milk Project, which contains a range of
essential, curriculum linked, educational materials that cover a
range of subject areas relating to dairy farming and production and
the health benefits of milk and dairy as part of a balanced
diet.
School Milk Project Manager, Diane Cannon, says: "Last year, The
School Milk Project supported 1,128 schools with events prepared
especially for this day. The team is now working hard in an effort
to beat that record and make this the best year yet."

DairyCo's current focus is on improving the profitability of dairy farming by focusing on four specific areas:
DairyCo is funded entirely by milk producers, via a statutory levy on all milk sold off-farm, at the rate of 0.06p per litre. This provides an annual income of around £6.5m.
