DairyCo will be running the next Mastitis Control Plan training
course for vets and consultants in Glasgow. The two day
course will take place on 20 May and 1 July.
"The training will be open to advisors and veterinary surgeons who
can implement the plan with their clients. Mastitis is a
complex problem that can best be tackled with the co-operation and
expertise of the farm team working together," explains DairyCo
product manager Kate Cross.
The Plan has been extremely popular with vets so far, with more
than 140 vets and consultants trained to use it, and courses all
regularly oversubscribed. The results for farmers who work
with their consultants to implement it are proving extremely
successful.
In trials, mastitis rates were reduced by 22 per cent in the first
year and by 36 per cent if the implementation of the Plan was
continued.
