Dairy Crest extends milk&more bonus

Dairy Crest has confirmed that it will continue to pay the 1ppl bonus to farmers on the milk&more contract until the end of the current contract in February 2012.
The 1ppl bonus payment is separate to the milk&more pricing mechanism within the contract. The bonus was introduced in April 2011 for six months in response to farm cost inflation and was due to end on 30 September 2011, but has been extended for the same reason.
The company has also indicated that the underlying milk price will increase in October but the extent of any increase has yet to be announced. The increase will be generated from the Market Adjustment mechanism, which calculates the price from a basket of non-aligned liquid milk prices.
