Arla foods has got the go-ahead in the UK to build the world's largest fresh milk dairy and the first that is zero carbon neutral.
Planners at Aylesbury Vale District Council gave their unanimous approval less than five months after receiving the application. The final decision rests with the Secretary of State. Once past this hurdle, work will start on the dairy which aims at being fully operational by the end of 2012. The 100% privately funded dairy will process and package up to 1.3 billion litres of fresh milk per year.
