Tesco increases retail milk price

Tesco has increased the price of a standard 4 pint polybottle of own brand milk by £0.24 to £1.49, equating to 66ppl.   Despite the increase per single bottle, Tesco maintained the price promotion at three 4 pint bottles for £3.

Of the other major multiple retailers, so far only Sainsburys has also increased the price of its own brand standard 4 pint polybottle to £1.49 (from £1.25 previously).   Sainsburys is also offering the same price promotion as Tesco; three units for £3 compared to two units for £2 previously.

Waitrose / Ocado has increased the price, albeit by a smaller amount, up £0.15 to £1.40.  However, ASDA has so far maintained the price per standard 4 pint polybottle at £1.25.
