This handbook is produced annually and gives answers to the most frequently asked questions about the dairy industry in the UK and the rest of the world.
Of interest in this year's addition is a year-on-year increase of 1.51ppl in the UK average farmgate milk price in 2010/11.
Also of note is the increase in UK wholesale prices between 2009 and 2010. Butter, SMP, mild Cheddar and mature Cheddar UK wholesale prices all increased by 31%, 21%, 8% and 2% between the two years.
There was also an increase in the UK advertising expenditure on yogurts of 29% between the 2009/10 and 2010/11 milk years.
