Farm Behind the Food resource launch
Our food carries so many labels and logos nowadays but what do they all mean?
Farming & Countryside Education set out to help children question the food they eat and explore what this confusion of labels and logos actually means. Hopefully, this will help them become better informed consumers.
There are 50 engaging classroom activities ranging from What's in the Cupboard? through Global Logo Bingo to Strawberry Foods For Ever! No teacher needs be short of something with which to inspire their class! Of course, those all-important curriculum links are included.
The web-based Farm Behind the Food www.farmbehindthefood.org.uk provides an information base for teachers and case studies to show how farmers work to each of the standards described as well as the classroom activities.
The resource was developed and trialled in the classroom by practising teachers.
FACE was supported by Defra in the production of this new, exciting resource.
