Heifer Wastage - Final Report

This research tackled a complex subject, identifying reasons why a numbers of heifers never reach their first calving. 

By using data from collaborating farmers and the University of Reading research herd, the key issues were analysed and allowed recommendation to be formulated for dairy farmers that should reduce heifer losses and improve cost of production. The report provides guidance on how this may be achieved.
