Strategies for Reducing Lameness in Dairy Cattle

Following a Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) meeting on the welfare of the dairy cow at Leeds in 1996 and the report of the Farm Animal Welfare Council (FAWC) on the same topic, a strategy for reducing lameness in dairy cattle in the UK was developed by a number of interested scientists, veterinarians, statisticians, farmers and funding bodies.
