Winter Management of Grass Swards

The objective of the project was to study the effects of late autumn/winter management strategies on subsequent spring herbage growth and quality. Over two years replicated small scale experiments with four treatments were established at SAC Crichton Royal Farm and Harper Adams University College to investigate the effect of different winter defoliation strategies on early spring herbage production.
