Technology and your business
The aim of this project was to provide help in the decision making process when considering new technologies for dairy farm businesses. In addition to reviewing some new technologies the report provided a method for considering how a technology might fit into a farm system including profitability, practicality and the impact on cow welfare and the environment. the main objectives of the project were:
- to seek and describe adaptations to available technologies to improve efficiency in farm activities and ultimately in profitability
- to assess how implementation of these technologies may aid management, to evaluate their impact on profitability and carry out a cost benefit analysis. To produce recommendations in a booklet format on how the relevant technologies could be adopted on farm
