Deliverables for dairy farmers: Scientific report of the findings and recommendations to farmers on ways to maximise heifer productivity.
Completion date: Completed September 2008
To monitor the second cohort of calves (studied initially under DEFRA project CSA 6057/LS3636) through their first three lactations and to determine the relative importance of genetic and environmental components during the rearing period in relation to subsequent cow fertility and longevity.
