Reduce methane & nitrogen emission (Defra AC0209)
Anticipated deliverables for dairy farmers:
To assist dairy farmers in managing their livestock in a profitable way as well as lessening the impact of dairy farms on the environment.
Defra funded project arising from a previous DairyCo project with the University of Reading which enables us to sit on the committee. There is no DairyCo funding contribution (other than to attend meetings) and it is run in collaboration with the University of Wales, Aberystwyth.
The aim of this study is to reduce methane emissions and nitrogen excretion from ruminant farm livestock.
Completion date: 2010
