Muscling on Holsteins

This project examined the impacts of selecting Holstein sires
with genetics for better carcass conformation and muscling. The
main objectives of the project were:
- to review the dairy beef market situation and future
opportunities for Holstein beef production systems
- a simulation of broadening breeding objectives to include
muscularity
- estimating economic benefits (or costs) of including
muscularity in £PLI
