This two day residential workshop looks at strategic aspects of dairying, the whys, hows and when. Taking current cost of production, from the farm's DairyCo Milkbench+ data set, as a base point attendees are able to try out different scenarios for their business. With technical sessions on nutrition, utilization of feeds and core costs of cows the workshop works towards production of a business plan to take the business forward.
"There is no denying the two days are a challenging. You're asked to look at your business performance in depth and question what you are doing. It's a good workshop as it takes you away from the day to day running of the dairy unit and allows you time to really concentrate on how you want your business to develop in the future." Jill Bathgate, dairy farmer
