Monthly results

• Kingshay data shows that Jersey and Guernsey milk yield averaged 18.9 litres/day in February 2012; a 0.9 litres/day (4.5%) decrease from the previous month but a 0.4 litres/day (2.2%) increase year on year. 
• Average levels of butterfat increased by 0.07 percentage points between January and February to 5.58%; 0.07 percentage points higher than the previous year.
• Average levels of protein increased by 0.01 percentage points over the month, from 3.86% to 3.87%. This figure was 0.07 percentage points higher than in February 2011.  
• The average milk price for February 2012 stood at 33.20ppl; 0.04ppl lower than the previous month but 4.00ppl (13.7%) higher than the previous year.

Annual Rolling Averages

Compared with the previous year, data for the 12 months ending February shows that the average yield for Kingshay herds has increased by 189 litres per cow (3.2%) to 6,011 litres per cow. Butterfat levels have decreased by 0.05 of a percentage point to 5.36% and protein levels have fallen 0.02 of a percentage point to 3.79%.  The average milk price has increased by 3.20ppl (11.3%) over the year to 31.51ppl.
