Monthly Milk Deliveries
According to the latest provisional figures, UK milk deliveries in July totalled 1,141m litres, a decrease of 38m litres compared to June representing a drop of 3.3%. Annual comparisons show that deliveries in July 10 were 3.6% (40m litres) higher than in July 09, when deliveries totalled 1,101m litres. UK provisional figures for July 2010 indicate that production levels are the highest since July 2006/7.
Separating GB and NI shows that in July, milk deliveries in GB decreased by 3.6% (30m litres) to a total of 967m litres. In contrast, deliveries were 29m litres, or 3.0%, up on the 938m litres delivered in July 09.
In NI, milk deliveries in July fell by 4.3% (8m litres) to a total of 174m litres. Annual comparisons show that deliveries have increased by 11m litres, or 6.8% from 163m litres in July 09.
UK milk deliveries have fallen for the past six years and the 2009/10 saw a new low.
