Latest information from DDC Wales shows that for the week ending 03/08/11:
- The average price of recorded heifers stood at £1,572/head, an increase of £64/head (4.2%) from the previous week.
- Commercial cow prices averaged £1,205/head, a decrease of £30/head (2.4%) from the previous week and commercial heifer prices decreased by 0.7% to an average of £1,425/head.

Wales Calf Prices
Average prices of beef bull calves rose for the week ending 03/08/11 compared to the previous week to an average of £181/head, an increase of 7.7% (£13/head). Beef heifer calves decreased slightly in price (£1/head) to £144/head, compared to the previous week. Friesian/Holstein heifers averaged £153/head for the week ending 03/08/11, 29% (£64/head) less than the previous week.
