Yogurt sales for the 52 weeks ending 27 November 2011, when compared with the previous year:
Total yogurt market: Private label vs. Branded:
Latest Kantar Worldpanel data shows that the volume sales of yogurts reached 591m kg in the 52-week ending 27 November 2011. Branded Yogurt sales recorded the largest share of volume sales with a 73.6% volume share over the past year. Branded yogurts have seen a volume decline of 0.8% YOY; they have also seen the largest increase in average price (+2.9% YOY).
Volume sales of private label yogurts reached 156.2m kg over the past year and recorded a 11.7% volume sales increase YOY. While it had a strong volume sales increase, private label remained a smaller share of the total market at 26.4% volume share in the latest 52-week period.

Yogurt by product type
Luxury yogurts have seen 4.1% volume growth YOY, representing 5,936 extra tonnes. Bio set yogurts also recorded a volume increase of 2.3% YOY. Children's yogurts recorded a volume decline of 2.6%. Low fat yogurts were also down slightly at nearly 1%, despite being cheaper per kg, counter balanced by small volume growth in 'very low fat' yogurts (+0.7%).

Yogurt drinks
Latest Kantar Worldpanel data shows that the volume sales of yogurt drinks declined 4% YOY in the 52 weeks to 27 November 2011. This has been driven by branded yogurt drinks, where volume sales fell 7.9%. Branded yogurt drinks still have the largest volume sales share at 81.8% over the past year.
